As a well-established football charity in Edinburgh, Big Hearts bring community resources together to offer adults and children free opportunities to help them live a safe and fulfilling life. All year long, we run programmes of activities aimed at various age groups and focused on: mental health, social connections and equal opportunities.

Autism & Neurodiversity Football
A new partnership with Team United, providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment, while creating fun football sessions for children and young people.

Friday Night Lights
Our new partnership with Police Scotland, Edinburgh Leisure and Community Sports Hubs, offers young people at risk of criminal activity a safe space to build positive connections.

Kinship Care
Our flagship Kinship Care programme provides valuable advice and peer support to children and their carers living in this ‘hidden’ form of care.

Memories
This reminiscence project, based on memorabilia and stories from the past, tackles loneliness and risk of dementia amongst older people.

Neuro Stars
Our weekly group offers support to neurodiverse young people and their parents/carers within a supportive and inclusive environment.

School's Out
Working closely with local schools, this initiative offers free meals and activities to disadvantaged young people in South West Edinburgh.

Switching Play
A great initiative for young people aged 13-16 who are looking to build for their future.

T.E.A.M Project
This after school project aims to build a safe place where young people of all cultures and backgrounds thrive together.

That's Me! Project
Through one to one advice and group activities, this project promotes young people’s positive mental health and wellbeing.

The Changing Room
Led by SAMH, this group harnesses the power of the beautiful game to engage with men and promote positive mental health.

Warm Welcome Lunch
Our weekly lunch, held at Tynecastle Park Stadium, offering free hot bowl food in a warm space with lovely company.

Welcome Through Football
This social inclusion and employability project is aimed at young people from refugee, asylum seeker and migrant backgrounds.

Wellbeing Together South West
Our new partnership, funded by the Scottish Government, offers mental health services to young people in South West Edinburgh.

Young People Counselling
Our new one-to-one counselling support service for young people, within our local community, who have experienced adversity.
