About Us

Rooted in community

Big Hearts is the registered charity operating from Tynecastle Park, home of Heart of Midlothian FC. Since 2015, we use the power of the beautiful game to improves lives across the communities we serve.

More than football

Big Hearts Community Trust is an award-winning charity operating from Gorgie, in South-West Edinburgh. Initially set up in 2006, Big Hearts initiated a new strategic direction in 2015 to become a charity dedicated to supporting families in need and vulnerable groups. Since then we harness the power of the Heart of Midlothian badge to build and deliver high quality support services around mental health, equality and social isolation. Big Hearts is also acting as community anchor for grassroot and non-profit groups in the surroundings of Tynecastle Stadium.

Financial update

At the last AGM on 12 December 2025, Big Hearts Community Trust released their latest financial account. Despite challenging external circumstances in 2024/25, Big Hearts' income reached record levels at £885,166 and expenditure at £884,467. We've worked hard to keep our funding diverse and our charitable spend as high as possible and we are proud to perform well in these areas. The charity continues to do its best to meet the needs of the community and our aim is to ensure Big Hearts is sustainable now and into the future.
