Let’s Paint this City Maroon

Being a Hearts fan has never just been about the game.

“Blood Doesn’t Show on a Maroon Jersey”.

For us, supporters of Heart of Midlothian FC, those words have always meant something more. They represent our commitment and loyalty through the highs and lows of football.

When matchday comes around, Edinburgh turns maroon. Strangers become friends and one colour brings us all together, as scarves are twirled and we sing “na, na, na, naaaa…jam tarts!

Maroon has always meant more than football.

It’s about the moments that made us celebrate, the ones that broke our heart, and the ones that remind us why we keep coming back. It’s about belonging. It’s about memories across generations. It’s about being part of something bigger than yourself.

To wear maroon is to share the story we’re all a part of: A football club saved by its own supporters. A fanbase that rallies when called upon. A community that understands that football achieves so much more than what happens on the pitch.

Our badge brings generations together, from across the city and beyond. And our story doesn’t stop in the stands.

Jambos have always shown up for each other. Standing strong in the face of adversity, supporting others most vulnerable, and proving time and time again that maroon is more than a colour we wear: it’s what we stand for. Here and everywhere.

This September, we’re taking that pride into the heart of Edinburgh. From Holyrood to Murrayfield. One day: hundreds of fans wearing the badge with pride.

“Let’s paint this city maroon!”
