Hearts legends Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown are the final special guests confirmed for the Big Hearts Gala in the Gorgie suite on 25 September.
For supporters of Heart of Midlothian FC, few partnerships are as iconic as The Gaffer and his right-hand man, who led the Club to major Cup victory after a 42-year wait. The duo led Hearts to one of the most celebrated moments in the Club’s history: an unforgettable Scottish Cup triumph over Rangers on 16 May 1998.
It’s a privilege for the Club charity to welcome on our Big Hearts Gala stage two influential figures whose names are forever etched into the fabric of the Club’s history. Reuniting with Thomas Flogel on the night, Jim Jefferies and Billy Brown’s appearance will help bring the story of 1998 back to life for all the fans in attendance, with a live Q&A and photo opportunities.

Jim Jefferies initially joined Hearts at 17 years old: he would play over 300 competitive matches in maroon. Jim’s commitment made him an ideal skipper, leading Hearts to the First Division Championship in 1980, and Hearts to promotion in 1978. Ten years later, at Berwick Rangers, Jim Jefferies will forge a long standing partnership with his assistant and childhood friend Billy Brown. The iconic duo will bring Heart of Midlothian to victory in the 1998 Scottish Cup Final, and continue working together at Falkirk, Bradford City and Kilmarnock before returning to Hearts in 2010.
