Big Hearts is delighted to announce a major partnership with the Edinburgh based charity Multi-Cultural Family Base (MCFB), which will develop into a new programme of support for vulnerable young people in Edinburgh.
Today, Big Hearts and Multi-Cultural Family Base welcomed a first group of young people who will be attending after school activities every Thursday at Tynecastle. Aged between 10 and 13 years old, these young people come from multi-cultural communities or families recently arrived in Edinburgh, and will take part in a set of sports & creative activities every week, followed by a healthy snack.
This pilot programme represents another step in Big Hearts’ journey to develop meaningful and sustainable support to those identified as the most vulnerable in our community and will benefit from the experience of the MCFB team in reaching out to local communities and addressing social isolation and cultural challenges.
