Big Hearts Befrienders – Info Evening on 2nd October

We are thrilled to host a special ‘Big Hearts Befrienders Evening’ on Monday 2nd October 2017!

The event is opened to anyone interested in becoming a Big Hearts Befriender and will take place from 6:30pm until 7:30pm at the Hearts Museum, Tynecastle Park.

Our Big Hearts Befrienders’ project was launched earlier this year in partnership with the Broomhouse Centre and aims to improve the emotional health and social engagement of young people between 7 & 14 years old. Volunteers Befrienders provide informal one-to-one support to these vulnerable young people through weekly social activities such as a visit to the zoo, baking or ice skating. Click here to read the full role description.

As we are looking to recruit more volunteers by the end of the year, this ‘Big Hearts Befrienders Evening’ at Tynecastle is the ideal opportunity for everyone to know more about the role and discover our future plans for the project! Big Hearts’ team and the staff from the Broomhouse Centre would be delighted to meet you for a chat! Our current Volunteer Befrienders will also be in attendance to share their feedback and answer any questions!

If you are interested to attend, simply turn up on the day. Any question, contact innes.shirreff@bighearts.org.uk
