Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club is set to host a festive celebration for over 130 seniors and their carers involved with the Big Hearts' charity.
All year-long, Big Hearts runs friendly afternoons for over 65: the Memories’ project is centred around football memorabilia to facilitate connections and reminiscence between those at risk of loneliness or living with signs of dementia.
This December, the Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club is stepping up to provide a Christmas meal for hundreds of people involved in the Memories project, enabling seniors and their loved ones to create new happy and festive memories together.
This kind gesture in partnership with Big Hearts will make a positive difference to those most vulnerable during the festive season, backing the charity’s Winter appeal: ‘Care for our carers this Christmas’. For those caring full-time for a family member with dementia, it doesn’t stop for Christmas, and the sense of loneliness can feel sharper. Big Hearts helps carers get some respite and peer support, so they all can be a family once again.
Over 130 guests will travel from Tynecastle Park to the countryside estate on December 8th for an exceptional afternoon filled with exquisite food, seasonal cheer and merry entertainment with live music and singing. Each guest will also receive a gift from Big Hearts.
