Over the past 18 months we’ve been joining forces with our Gorgie neighbours to improve outcomes of local families affected by poverty and social isolation.

Employees of the distillery offered their time and energy to support our main areas of work – including children in care, school pupils affected by holiday hunger and disadvantaged families at Christmas. To date the partnership raised over £16,000 which helped support over 580 vulnerable adults and children living in the surroundings of Tynecastle Stadium.

The successful work between the 135-year old grain whisky producer and the charity of Heart of Midlothian FC has been outlined as inspiring private-third sector partnership which benefits hundreds of people living and working in one of the most deprived areas of Edinburgh.

The Gorgie/Sighthill ward, were both organisations are based, has a child poverty rate of 39% – the highest across the city.

The 9th Edinburgh Business Awards Ceremony celebrated the best examples of innovation, performance and engagement of businesses and community organisations across the city.
