Edinburgh cheer – Christmas Day Dinner at Tynecastle

Today, we are delighted to announce that both football stadiums at Tynecastle Park and Easter Road will be open on the 25th of December, as part of the EDINBURGH CHEER campaign!

A free festive dinner will be offered to those identified as most vulnerable across the city, adding to the number of initiatives delivered by Hearts and Hibernian through Big Hearts Community Trust and Gamechanger.

Joining the campaign – which is designed to make Edinburgh the Capital of kindness over Christmas – the Tesco stores in Edinburgh will play a big part on Christmas Day by supplying food for both meals across the capital, helping feeding up to hundreds of people who are vulnerable at this time of the year.

With the support from NHS Lothian and a team of Tesco’s ‘Community Champions’, Big Hearts is working closely with our partners and local organisations to identify groups and individuals who might feel lonely, isolated or finding things difficult during the festive season.

If you work with or support people who might benefit from attending the event at Tynecastle stadium on the 25th December, please email: christmas@bighearts.org.uk. We will get back to you with practical details including help with transport.

EDINBURGH CHEER is supported by Tesco, the Evening News, Heart of Midlothian FC and Big Hearts Community Trust,  Hibernian FC, Gamechanger and NHS Lothian.
