OPEN VACANCY: BIG HEARTS RECRUITING A NEW PROJECT OFFICER!

Today, Big Hearts announces a new job opportunity to work as part of our growing staff team. This new part-time Project Officer role will focus on running and developing one of Big Hearts’ most popular programmes!

At the start of the pandemic, Big Hearts swiftly adapted our support to over 65s across the community, setting up regular phone calls and reminiscence parcels to be used from home.

Whilst the programme has expanded over the past year, we are seeing our current Project Officer Kirsty Roebuck moving to new responsibilities, including leading the pioneering and ambitious ‘Welcome Through Football’ project at Tynecastle Stadium.

Big Hearts is now looking to recruit a Project Officer who will work part-time within our staff team, to lead our work supporting isolated older people!

This is the perfect role for someone who has experience within the charity sector, and particularly with experience of working with older people, who wants the opportunity to develop projects to increase social connections.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Big Hearts is recognised as one the leading football charities in Scotland, widely praised for the standard of our support services and the positive impact generated across Edinburgh.

Our reminiscence project, initiated over 7 years ago, is mostly based around our weekly Edinburgh Memories and Football Memories groups for over 65s, facilitated by a team of knowledgeable volunteers.

Every month, Big Hearts provides tailored support to over 250 older people at risk of social isolation, dementia and poverty.

This role will help plan, deliver and coordinate Big Hearts’ work to support older people through a number of initiatives, including face-to-face groups, dementia-friendly resources and events.
