Kinship Care: Cash for Kids supports Big Hearts Easter Family Day

During the Easter school break, families from across our Kinship Care After School Club got to enjoy a fun-filled day at Tynecastle Park kindly supported by Cash for Kids.

Big Hearts was delighted to be awarded a grant from the Children’s charity to set up a fantastic day of Easter celebration for over 35 kinship young people and their carers.

Spring-themed crafts and games on the community pitch were amongst the activities available on the day. At lunchtime Kinship Care families enjoyed a free, nutritious lunch served in the Executive Lounge of the Stadium.

For the first time Big Hearts and Mentor Scotland, our lead partner in Kinship Care support, delivered a digital workshop to the young people and the carers in attendance. A fantastic opportunity for both groups to learn how digital tools can help increase their social connections and to receive tailored advice about online safety.

A big thank you to Cash for Kids for funding this event and enabling us to offer Kinship Care families a memorable day during the school holidays!
