An open letter to the Hearts Squad

Heart of Midlothian FC has a long proud history of showing up and fighting for what matters and we have always taken real pride in that.

Our Club, the largest fan-owned in the UK. Our fans, the kindest in Europe.

In our corner of Gorgie, we honour fallen heroes and we celebrate legends in the stands.

Now we will look up to the 2025/26 Heart of Midlothian FC squad.

A squad that has demonstrated the positive side of football. A squad that cares.

You are the ones who will be remembered for showing emotions, determination and unity. You embody what belonging and community is all about.

You gave us all something invaluable. You showed us that change is possible.

At Big Hearts, we value every day the power of the club badge: to change lives, to give second chances, to right some wrongs and to offer hope and opportunities.

Disrupting, leading the way, pushing for success. You and us. On and off the pitch.

This season what our charity will remember is how you backed our work, away from the cameras and without any expectations. Your actions and kindness illustrate what ‘more than football’ stands for.

The Hearts song was sung in the pubs and streets of Gorgie until the wee hours on Sunday. It wasn’t a sign of fans overcome by disappointment. It was generations of supporters expressing their pride, their love and their gratitude to you. Our 2025/26 Jambos.

This is what you mean to us.

Thank you.
