More Families to Benefit from Kinship Care After School Club

Big Hearts is delighted to announce the expansion of its support to Kinship Care families with the launch of a new After School Club on Mondays.

Running weekly from 4.30pm at Tynecastle, the new Monday sessions will complement our existing Tuesday group for young people and their kinship carers.

Sessions provide a range of engaging activities for children, as well as an informal setting for carers to access support from our lead partner Mentor. Families are also invited to enjoy a healthy and nutritious meal together provided at the end of each session.

Since the programme was launched in 2015, Big Hearts has provided ongoing support to Kinship Care families including school holiday activities, tickets at Hearts’ home matches and a new befriending service for Kinship Care young people.

Kinship Care families throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding areas can register their interest or find out more information by emailing us at kinship@bighearts.org.uk.
